The Fabric
100% hand-woven Uzbek cotton ikat — produced by artisans in Central Asia using a resist-dyeing technique that predates most of the world's fashion industries by centuries. The blurred flame-like patterns are created thread by thread before a single centimetre of fabric is woven. Each kaftan is one of a kind.
The Silhouette
Floor-length duster coat, open front with no closure, wide kimono sleeves with cuffs, unlined. Wear it over jeans and a white tee or belted over a swimsuit at the beach. Both work.

Care
Hand wash cold or gentle machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Iron on low heat. Store folded.

Ordering from an overseas vendor is always tricky, and I accept that returns will seldom be a realistic option.
