The blue and white ikat on one side does most of the talking. The solid teal denim on the other knows when to stay quiet.
Two entirely different garments - This reversible kimono jacket works as two entirely different garments depending on which side faces the world. The ikat side is bold - a hand-woven blue and white pattern in the Central Asian tradition, with ikat trim peeking out at the cuffs and hem when you wear it teal-side out. That detail, the pattern showing at the edges, is what distinguishes a garment with craft behind it.
The Silhouette
A generous kimono: wide sleeves with structured cuffs, open front, mid-thigh length. The matching teal belt comes with it and works on both sides. The reverse denim-cotton canvas gives the jacket structure and weight - it sits differently from the ikat side, more tailored, more urban.
The Craft
The hand-woven ikat fabric means the pattern is produced thread by thread, dyed before weaving in a process that cannot be replicated by machine. The blue you receive is unique to this piece. This is a jacket people will ask about. That question has a good answer.
